What's the deal with the power outages?
Power outages are common on the island, especially in the summertime. The water pump runs on electricity so please be sure to prepare PROACTIVELY in case there is a power outage by keeping a water supply handy. We have a small backup battery in the Villa to keep the WiFi running and to charge all your devices. Additionally our property managers are available 24/7 if needed.
Why power outages are common: In 2019 Hurricane Dorian destroyed 50% of all structures on the island. This was a huge blow to the island and the electrical infrastructure is still being rebuilt to accommodate the island needs in the summertime, due to ACs running. You might experience a power outage during your stay that will last minutes to a few hours. If this happens to you, enjoy it! You are staying in one of the most beautiful places in the world with a beach and ocean all to yourselves.
Is it safe to drink tap water, or should I stick to bottled water?
The villa is on well water and is perfectly safe to consume it and cook with it. We recommend sticking to drinking the filtered water from the refrigerator dispenser just in case guests are not used to well water. The ice maker also uses filtered water.
Does the villa have a BBQ?
Yes, there is an electric BBQ on the deck. Please do not use the grill inside and do bring it inside when not in use.
Up to three people to be comfortable.
